GREEN TEA SEED OIL
Green Tea Seed Oil, also know as Camellia Seed Oil, is extracted from the seeds of our tea plants using cold pressing. It has been used for centuries in Asia as a cooking and cosmetic oil but Bryn Hill is the only farm in Australia producing Green Tea Seed Oil from the tea plant, Camellia sinensis.
DESCRIPTION
Green Tea Seed Oil is a pale yellow colour with a mild fragrance. This super nourishing oil contains a high level of Oleic acid and closely resembles the natural lipid layer of the skin, so it is quickly and easily absorbed, providing much needed hydration and nourishment to the skin.
Green Tea Seed Oil is also rich in tocopherols, Vitamin A and E and essential fatty acids such as Omega 3, 6 and 9. Its high level of antioxidants include squalene and catechins that are also found in green tea, and protect the skin from free radical damage and therefore aging. The main flavanoids in Green Tea Oil - kaempferol, myricetin, and quercetin, play an important role in cardiac, brain and immune system health.
SINGLE ORIGIN
Our Green Tea Seed Oil is produced in small batches from the tea seeds of the tea plant, Camellia sinensis, grown on our Topaz farm and thus ensuring it is a single origin oil. Many cosmetic oils in Australia are blends of unknown sources, questionable age and poor quality.

COLD PRESSED
Bryn Hill's Green Tea Seed Oil is not heated at any stage of the extraction process. This ensures it retains all of its beneficial properties so it is extra good for your skin. Unfortunately, many cosmetic oils are subjected to high temperatures during production. Heating tea seeds will increase the amount of oil extracted, but greatly lower the quality. Our Green Tea Seed Oil is gently cold pressed to ensure the maximum quantity of beneficial components are retained, as well as its unique flavour profile. |
UNREFINED
Many cosmetic oils are refined to ensure any flavour, colour or unwanted components are removed from the oil after extraction. We do not treat our precious Green Tea Seed Oil with chemicals or heat, nor do we deodorise or bleach it. Our oil is simply cold pressed then filtered, ensuring its subtle flavour, colour and health benefits are passed onto your skin and hair.
CHEMICAL FREE
Bryn Hill's tea plants are chemical and pesticide free, and surrounded by thousands of acres of World Heritage listed rainforest, creating a pristine environment for the production of our Green Tea Seed Oil. Although the tea plants are organically grown and managed, according to Australian regulations, the resulting tea products (such as our Green Tea Seed Oil) are not certified organic by any regulatory body.
We believe it is of benefit for consumers to look for cold pressed and unrefined oil products, rather than just focussing on organic production.
